General Information

The Department of Coaching Education started admitting students in 2004 and is one of the four undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Sports Sciences. The language of education is Turkish, and its duration is four years. During the undergraduate education, sports trainers (coaches) specializing in different branches of team sports or individual sports are trained.

Objective

The aim of the Coaching Education Department is to educate sports trainers (coaches) specializing in different branches of team sports or individual sports; To ensure that they have the qualifications that attach importance to ethical rules, adopt the principle of protecting the health and safety of the athlete, work multidisciplinary for a high level of performance, follow the scientific and technological developments in the world in their field, train athletes of all ages, perform performance tests, talent selection and guidance.

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Have a strong theoretical and practical infrastructure in the field of sports sciences. Demonstrates commitment by giving importance to ethical rules.
  2. Makes active use of technology in his/her profession.
  3. Can work in harmony with different disciplines.
  4. It can train people of different ages, genders and goals.
  5. Will be able to measure sportive performance with scientific tests and interpret the results.
  6. They can follow the scientific and technological developments in the field of sports sciences and transfer them to their profession.

Admission Requirements

In order to be accepted to the Department of Coaching Education, the candidate must first meet the threshold score determined by the department in the relevant year in the Higher Education Institutions exam, and then be successful in the special talent exam held by the faculty. The criteria for the special talent exam are announced on the web page of the faculty every year.

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from the Department of Coaching Education, students must meet the graduation and diploma requirements specified in Pamukkale University Undergraduate Education Regulations and take at least 240 credits for four years.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of Coaching Education Department; He can work as a Trainer or Sports Specialist in all units affiliated to the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Turkey (Youth and Sports Provincial Directorates, Education Department, federations, etc.), and in autonomous federations. In addition, they can work as a Coach, Conditioner or Match Analyzer in amateur or professional sports clubs.
