Our Roles and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the International Relations Coordination Office are as follows:

a) Prepares and implements cooperation agreements and protocols with higher education institutions and other organisations abroad.

b) Evaluates the calls for proposals issued by the Directorate for EU Education and Youth Programmes of the National Planning Organisation (National Agency) or the European Commission for Erasmus Mobility or other project titles related to the European Union education programmes (such as Erasmus, Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig, etc.) and sub-areas of these programmes, submits applications, signs contracts and regularly sends interim and final reports. It organises all activities, carries out the necessary infrastructure work and ensures that participation in the programmes is increased in terms of quality and quantity.

c) It supports the integration of the University into the European Higher Education Area.

d) Ensures the coordination and execution of all work from the announcement and selection phase to the organisation, follow-up and completion of student and staff mobility within the framework of agreements/protocols (such as the Erasmus programme).

e) Ensures that all types of application, admission, reception, placement and follow-up of foreign students and staff coming to the University are carried out.

f) Carries out the procedures, prepares official letters, directs and guides people in carrying out the necessary procedures for the mobility of students and staff going abroad.

g) He/she ensures the representation of the University in all national and international educational events, fairs, conferences, seminars, etc.

h) He/she prepares and follows up membership applications, information updates, correspondence in relations with international organisations.

i) He/she provides support and coordination to the relevant units in the preparation and implementation phases of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes to be carried out with foreign universities. Submits or assists units in submitting applications for foreign/national funded projects. 

j) It disseminates all types of international project calls and announcements to the students and staff of the University, organises information sessions and provides support in the preparation and implementation of projects. 

k) In order to ensure the integration of the University into the European Research Area, it shall follow developments in the European Union Framework Programmes and other European Union research programmes, support individual/institutional initiatives and provide guidance and training services on project management.

l) It contributes to the implementation of international projects in which the University is involved as a leader or partner and ensures the coordination of the units involved in the projects.

m) It supports, organises and coordinates the cooperation between the University's international partners and national partners (e.g. other universities, industry). In this way, it seeks to create a University-centred network.

n) It contributes to the preparation of all kinds of materials for the promotion of the University at international level. It provides technical assistance in correspondence, communication and document preparation by making all kinds of announcements, promotions and information within the University on issues related to international relations. 

o) Contributes to the inventory of machinery/equipment/systems/devices received from the University's international projects, in coordination with the relevant units of the University.

 

At a time when it is becoming increasingly important for students to gain experience abroad and when learning a foreign language has become compulsory, the International Relations Coordination Office, which is one of the first places students turn to, is waiting for interested students and teachers!
