Purpose and Activity Conclusion and Evaluation

It is aimed to develop and implement projects for the disabled in all units of the university and to have a campus that offers more functional opportunities to the disabled. In this context, elevators were built for buildings that do not have elevators for disabled access, as well as ramps at building entrances, and standard sidewalks on campus roadsides. Disabled access will be facilitated within the campus by taking necessary precautions on the sidewalks. It is planned to construct disabled car parks, to open the sports center to disabled users, and to provide guidance structures for visually and hearing impaired people to access buildings and facilities.

In addition to these physical arrangements, it is aimed to increasingly continue the social, cultural and sportive activities for the disabled, in which their active participation is ensured. The Disabled Students Unit, which is under the Health, Culture and Sports Department, is still active in the continuation of these studies. The easy reader system, which was installed by this unit for visually impaired students, was put into use in 2013, and the books of visually impaired students are converted into audio and written document formats and they are provided with the opportunity to study in this way. It is aimed to expand the use of this system. The Health, Culture and Sports Department and the Construction and Technical Department are responsible for the realization of this target under the coordination of the Strategy Development Department.

Education and Training

Pamukkale University Disabled Student Unit Coordinatorship continues its studies on the problems that academic units may encounter in applying the Education-Training and Exam Application Principles for Disabled Students within their educational activities and the immediate implementation of the applications for these problems.

Pre-Registration

Upon the application of disabled students who have passed the university entrance exam and are in the process of making a choice, the faculties, higher schools, and vocational schools in our university are introduced, physical opportunities are evaluated according to the disability of the student, and counseling is given in making their own choice according to the score type.

Registration Time

During the registration week of the university, the unit is introduced to all students and families with and without disabilities at a table. In addition to the staff of the unit, there are disabled students studying at our university at the table, and the first contact is made with disabled students who will just start their education life.

Post Registration

Students who declare their disability-related status are contacted both during registration and through the online pre-registration system. Communication is established with the administrative and academic units in order to eliminate the difficulties faced by the disabled student in campus life.
